Paradiso Award 2025 to Emilio Casalini
The Paradiso Award 2025 has been presented to Emilio Casalini, journalist, author, and storyteller who has transformed Beauty into a shared, living, and accessible narrative.
Through his books, investigations, and the television program GenerAzione Bellezza, Casalini invites us to look beyond museums and collections: Beauty is everywhere, in forgotten villages, in places regenerated through culture, and in communities able to be reborn through creativity. His voice has contributed to bringing back to the center of public debate the value of Beauty as a driver of social and cultural growth.

The ceremony at Caffè Paradiso
The award ceremony took place yesterday at the historic Caffè Paradiso, overlooking the Giardini of the Biennale, in front of an attentive and engaged audience. An intimate yet meaningful setting, where art, the city of Venice, and the theme of cultural regeneration intertwined in a single narrative.
The prize, a Venetian forcola crafted by the city’s master artisans, was presented to the author by Avvocato Giorgia Pea, delegate of the Mayor of Venice for culture, theatre, and cinema. The choice of the forcola, an essential element of Venetian rowing tradition, symbolizes the bond between roots and innovation, an object that embodies functionality, art, and identity.
The history of the Paradiso Award
The Paradiso Award was first established in the early 20th century and was awarded, among others, to Paul Klee. Relaunched in 2016 by the European Council of Art, the award has now reached its third edition since its revival and continues to pursue its original mission: celebrating figures who, through research and storytelling, keep alive the reflection on Beauty.
In this 2025 edition, the presentation to Emilio Casalini renews the Foundation’s commitment to recognizing and supporting those who dedicate their work to restoring meaning, value, and future to Beauty as a common good.
